On the Menu: September 20 to September 26
Here’s what happening at the Beard House next week:
Monday, September 21, 7:00 P.M.
Oahu Farm to Table
The weather is unmatched and the scenery is sublime, but these days Oahu’s multifaceted farm to table cuisine is one of the island’s greatest attractions. Experience a true taste of paradise when culinary ambassadors JBF Award winner George Mavrothalassitis, Kevin Chong, and pastry chef Leigh Ann Seto create a menu highlighting Hawaii’s unique ingredients.
Wednesday, September 23, 7:00 P.M.
All-Starr Steak-Out
The constellation of Stephen Starr–owned steakhouses running along the Eastern seaboard serves as a North Star of sorts for true steak lovers, pointing the way to an incredible chophouse meal from Fort Lauderdale up to Atlantic City. And now that path extends to the Beard House, where Starr’s executive chefs will collaborate on this stunning surf and turf dinner.
Friday, September 25, 7:00 P.M.
Long Island Harvest
With lush produce from the area’s farmland, and bushels of seafood caught daily off the coast, the harvest season on Long Island’s North Fork is like none other. Help us celebrate this time of plenty with a locally sourced menu prepared by chef David Intonato and paired with wines by iconic winemaker Eric Fry.
Saturday, September 26, 10:00 A.M.
Bread Baking Workshop
Described by Gael Greene as a “standout even in this bread-savvy town,” the bread basket at Harold Moore’s Commerce is a thing of wonder. Learn how to make the buttery cinnamon rolls, salt-flecked pretzels, and crunchy baguettes that have become the restaurant’s signature, and enjoy a delicious goody bag to take home.
