In May 2021, we launched the Beard House Fellows program presented by Capital One, which re-envisions the potential of this historic space into a hub of training and professional development for talented emerging chefs. Each Fellow will have a one-month residence at the Beard House where JBF will provide hard skills training along with the opportunity to develop a meal kit in collaboration with Great Performances that will be available across the country.

Meet our newest fellow, Nashali Rivera. Born and raised in the Bronx, Nashali grew up making a variety of foods, like Puerto Rican pasteles, alongside her mother, and watching cooking shows hosted by Julia Child, Jacques Pépin, and Lidia Bastianich. After attending Food and Finance High School and the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (CCAP), she began competing at and volunteering for various culinary events, which eventually led her to pursue a degree at the Culinary Institute of New York at Monroe College. Since graduating, Nashali has held a handful of positions in the industry, including pastry line cook, chef assistant for private events at the Institute of Culinary Education, and catering sous chef at New York University’s School of Law. Looking to start her own business, Nashali hopes to share the beauty and joy of food with her community.

Nashali Rivera’s Beard Box will be on sale Monday, October 18 at 9:00 A.M. EST through Wednesday, October 20 at 11:59 P.M. ET.  
Meal Kits serve two (2) guests and will be delivered on October 26 .  The virtual event will take place on Wednesday, October 27 at 6:30 P.M. ET.

+ Beard Box is available for nationwide shipping in the continental United States.

+ Please note that due to the nature of this event, we are not able to accommodate dietary restrictions at this stage. We appreciate your understanding and support of this policy.
