The James Beard Foundation is excited to announce the ten cities and dates for Taste America 2018, engaging with chefs from around the country to highlight regional cuisines and the communities that make an impact using food as a tool. In addition to spotlighting the delicious food around the country, Taste America will focus on amplifying JBF food waste and sustainability initiatives and will directly contribute to the Foundation's Scholarship programs.

Tickets go on sale in mid-July and will be available at jamesbeard.org/tasteamerica.

The official Taste America kickoff event will be hosted by JBF Award winner Traci Des Jardins, who will prepare a celebratory meal for an August invitation-only reception alongside 2018 Outstanding Bakers Belinda Leong and Michel Suas at the James Beard House in New York City.

Each city will boast weekend-long programming that will include a dinner composed by an impressive roster of chefs, including those who have participated in various JBF Impact Programs, including Women’s Leadership programs, and Boot Camp advocacy training. In addition to a unique dining experience, select cities* will feature cooking demos and book signing at local Sur La Table stores, highlighting many chefs who contributed to JBF’s latest cookbook, Waste Not: How to Get the Most from Your Food (available for presale now).

2018 Taste America will pop up in the following communities:

  • Sept 28-29: New Orleans / Phoenix
  • Oct 12-13: Los Angeles
  • Oct 19-20: Louisville / Seattle
