Thanks to the recent boom in low-and-slow joints throughout New York, city dwellers no longer need a boarding pass to get a taste of bona fide ’cue. We’ve rounded up chefs from this new wave of restaurants for an all-out, barbecue-centric Beard House brunch.

Riesling evangelist (and JBF Award–winning sommelier) Paul Grieco has made it his mission to highlight the undersung varietal with his nationwide Summer of Riesling campaign. For this Beard House dinner, chef Marco Canora of Hearth and Terroir will showcase Grieco’s exceptional Riesling selections with a wine-friendly menu of his Italian-accented seasonal fare.
