Though they were pitted against each other as semifinalists for the 2014 JBF Best Chef: Northeast award, Tyler Anderson and Joel Viehland will be putting their friendly competition aside to collaborate on this elegant Beard House dinner. The chefs, who share a commitment to sustainability and impeccable ingredients, will prepare a lovely New England–inspired seasonal menu

Allure of Southeast Asia
Leah Cohen gained fame as a Top Chef contestant, but she proved her culinary chops with the opening of the New York Times two-starred Pig and Khao, where she serves creative contemporary iterations of foods from her mother’s native Philippines. For this dinner, Cohen has designed a menu to showcase the cuisines of several Southeast Asian countries.

Enlightened Eaters 
Master butcher Cole Ward shares his experience with whole-animal butchery in this comprehensive tome, The Gourmet Butcher’s Guide to Meat. With a sense of humor and approachable style, Ward deflates much of the mystery behind butchery, covering topics such as marbling, meat grading, and butchering history and traditions for anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of holistic meat consumption.

La Vie en Rosé
At Le Philosophe, French classics like trout amandine and duck à l’orange are subtly reimagined by chef Matthew Aita, who “has a knack for infusing these age-old recipes with a streamlined, post-gourmet sensibility,” as Adam Platt of New York magazine wrote. For this rosé lovers’ dinner, Aita has designed an artful menu to pair with the quintessential summer quaff.

At the white-hot Del Campo, Victor Albisu serves expertly prepared grilled and herb-smoked meats inspired by his Peruvian heritage and heightened with modern American influences. Join us when he returns to the Beard House with a soulful, satisfying, and wine-friendly menu.

Chefs & Champagne®
Chefs & Champagne® is the James Beard Foundation’s annual summer tasting party in the Hamptons. Join us when we honor the James Beard Award–winning chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and media personality Bobby Flay. We'll feature flowing Champagne Taittinger​, the wines of WölfferEstate Vineyard, Stella Artois®, and culinary offerings from a select group of over 30 celebrated chefs, with many from JBF Award–winning restaurants. The Christian WölfferScholarship program to support food and wine studies will also be announced.
